Welcome to Nalandabodhi Bay Area!
![]() |
Since 1999, San Francisco Bay Area Nalandabodhi has offered opportunities for students to study and practice Buddhism under the guidance of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche (NBI). We are a small but vibrant group, with members living in the city of San Francisco and throughout the North, South, and East bay, who meet monthly in San Francisco to practice meditation and discuss dharma. We also offer community practice and study opportunities and guidance to those wishing to explore Buddhism. In addition, we periodically host visiting teachers. Our plans in 2010 include a dharma book group and hosting dharma DVD screenings.
As part of Nalandabodhi, an organization dedicated to continuing the lineage of Tibetan Buddhism (NBI) internationally, we study and explore the teachings of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and masters of the Kagyu (NBI) and Nyingma (NBI) traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Examples of these teachings can be found in Bodhi Magazine and also in recordings available from Vajra Echoes.
We hope you enjoy visiting our online home. Please contact us should you be interested in attending our activities for the first time. |

Letter from Rinpoche
December 21, 2009
Dear Sangha Friends,
I recently had the great fortune to visit and spend time with my guru Khenpo Rinpoche at Tek Chok Ling in Kathmandu, Nepal. Rinpoche is doing very well and he is cheerful and happy to see students and give teachings. I, along with six other students arrived in Kathmandu on November 16. We had daily audiences with Rinpoche in the morning and received profound instructions in doha form.
